“IPS is a trusted partner: direct, proactive, honest and reliable.”
Dennis van Drongelen is responsible at Johnson Controls for personal safety and security solutions in healthcare – a specialized field where the demand for new and smart solutions is currently very high.
“Our clients – often large institutions such as mental healthcare providers and academic hospitals – usually define their own needs. They look for the most suitable solution and for partners who can deliver. Based on those requirements, we provide a complete advisory solution and, together with our suppliers, select the best system or product. Depending on the standards, this can mean choosing pagers or smart devices.
We work closely with IPS, which gives us direct access to the know-how of their developers. In our tenders, we present IPS explicitly as the manufacturer. When we sit down with a client, they can support us with technical explanations or demonstrations. Our customers really value that. And let’s not forget: these are often complex cases, significant investments, and long-term projects. Commitment from the manufacturer provides that extra level of trust. After all, they have influence over the technical process when specific tweaks or additions to a system are required. IPS also takes responsibility when it comes to service and maintenance. Manufacturers who are further removed, working only through agents, or account managers, often find it harder to deliver and communicatie effectively.
For me, IPS is a long-standing partner. We communicate easily and trust one another. Even when challenges arise and the pressure is high, we always find a solution together. IPS is a trusted partner: direct, proactive, honest, and reliable. Their repair processes also run smoothly. In most cases, they handle them directly with our clients. They know the relationships, the specific issues, and the challenges. We’re happy to leave that to them – purely based on trust.
In this market, organizations often stick with one solution for a long time, which means that knowledge of it exists in-house. But we also see new people coming in with new perspectives and solutions, and that changes how products are viewed. The classic pager is under pressure. For some time now, we’ve been receiving questions about integration with mobile networks and Wi-Fi. In that regard, Stellar couldn’t have arrived at a better time. There’s strong interest, and it finally allows us to answer the most common questions. We welcome it and will certainly include it in our solutions. I also see new applications. If you start thinking out of the box, there are countless possibilities – in situations where people or objects don’t necessarily need to be within beacon range.
We are already perparing internally for hybrid paging and are translating that into applications for our clients. IPS provides us with tailored information and datasheets, specific to each client. These materials are useful for both technicians and for (commercial) decision-makers who want insight into functionality, user interface, and deployment options.
Once again, IPS proves to be the right partner for a product that has proven itself in the past and continues to prove itself today! Most importantly, it offers opportunities for the future – in ways that integrate with existing systems or stand entirely on their own. I’m ready for it.
